Solar Load Calculator Frequently Asked Questions
What is a solar load calculator?
A solar load calculator helps you determine your total electricity consumption by calculating how much power (watts) your appliances use and how much energy (kWh) you consume daily. This is the first step in understanding your energy needs before designing a solar system.
How is this different from a solar system calculator?
This calculator only measures your load (electricity consumption). It does not recommend solar panel expense or size, inverters, or batteries. After calculating your load, you’ll need a separate system sizing calculator to determine what solar equipment you need.
Do I need to know technical details to use this calculator?
No. Simply select your appliances from the list, enter how many you have, and how many hours per day they run. The calculator automatically knows the wattage of common appliances used in Pakistan.
Is this calculator free to use?
Yes, the load calculator is completely free with no registration required. You only need to provide contact details if you want to download a detailed PDF report.
How do I find the wattage of my appliances?
Check the label/sticker on the appliance, usually located on the back or bottom. It will show watts (W) or amps (A). If it shows amps, multiply by 220V to get watts (e.g., 5A × 220V = 1100W).A solar load calculator helps you determine your total electricity consumption by calculating how much power (watts) your appliances use and how much energy (kWh) you consume daily. This is the first step in understanding your energy needs before designing a solar system.
How accurate is this calculator?
The calculator is 90-95% accurate for typical households. Final accuracy depends on how precisely you estimate daily usage hours. Actual consumption may vary by ±5-10% based on appliance efficiency, usage patterns, and seasonal variations.
What does "daily consumption in kWh" mean?
kWh (kilowatt-hour) is the unit of energy used by your electricity company to bill you. If the calculator shows 18 kWh per day, you consume 540 kWh per month (18 × 30), which is what appears on your LESCO/GEPCO/MEPCO bill.
